an introduction

The Cognitio Legal Writing Competition is our way of getting participants to ponder over currently important legal issues vis-a-vis statutes. With this essay competition we hope we contribute in some way to the improvement of your legal acumen.
I'd like to think of this year's topics as especially interesting:
1)The Ephemeral and Continually Changing Dimensions of Privacy in India: The WADA Clause and Beyond
2)Cross Border Mergers: Implications under the Competition Act, 2002
3)Anti-terrorism laws: Distinguishing Myth and Reality
4)The impact of GST (Goods and Services Tax) on the Indian Tax Scene
5)The future of Product Patents post the 2005 Amendment

Essays on above mentioned topics shall be judged by the following immensely brilliant people:

Prof. (Dr.) Sudhir Krishnaswamy, Professor, NUJS Kolkata, Mr. Saurabh Soparkar, Advocate, Gujarat High Court, Mr. Mihir Thakore, Senior Advocate, Gujarat High Court, Ms. Ekta Bahl, Partner, Dua Associates Hyderabad, Mrs. Elizabeth Seshadri, Partner, Iyer and Thomas Associates, Chennai.
Also add to this list of why-you-must-participate-in-cognitio are our cash prizes, that we've been known to promptly gift the winners with tending to zero time lapse. Rs 7000,5000 and 3000 respectively for those lucky students who place uno, secondo and triento. The spoils shall have to be shared with your co-writer (depending on the sort of equation the both of you share of course),if you have one and which we completely permit. We also award all participants with a certificate of participation, since stating the obvious is something we absolutely love doing.
Our last date for registration is 10th Jan '010 and submission exactly a month after.
We at GNLU like being ubiquitous to the point of amusing befuddlement.
